SHERIFF JOHN LOVICK'S DEEP-FRIED TURKEY RECIPE

With the icy roads, Snohomish County Sheriff John Lovick felt like he could not leave his post today for the annual turkey fry, but we're leaving you with his recipe. Lovick will be back next Thanksgiving. Have a great holiday.

JOHN LOVICK'S DEEP-FRIED TURKEY RECIPE:
If you are planning on cooking a deep fried turkey, please be very cautious and remember: safety first.

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 medium-chopped onion
6-8 cloves garlic
6 tablespoons mild hot sauce
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
4 tablespoons seasoning salt
2 cups water
1 turkey, thawed if frozen
Make marinade by mixing Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic and hot sauce in blender until liquefied. Add prepared mustard, seasoning salt and water. Dry turkey inside and out. With a meat injector, inject 1/2 a cup of marinade in both sides of breast. Inject in legs and thighs and wings.
Season the turkey with a pinch of cayenne pepper, if desired. Heat 5 gallons of peanut oil to 350 degrees.

*** DO NOT OVER-FILL THE COOKER WITH OIL--IT CAN SPILL OVER THE EDGE WHEN YOU INSERT THE TURKEY AND CAUSE AN OIL FIRE ***
Slowly lower turkey into oil. Cook for 3-1/2 minutes per pound. Turkey will get golden brown. Remove from oil and allow to cool for half an hour.

You know Deep Fried Turkey is just as good for Christmas and New Years!
Fire them up boys, there is plenty of opportunity in the next couple of weeks to get the oil boil'in and the birds frying. It's a great fund raiser, let's get them going.

    Turkey freeze out
Propane is a PITA to use in such cold weather. The oil probably would have froze! Gotcha back John.

    come'on Dori..You super hero..manly man..
Your such a ef'n puss. This is perfect fodder for you to pick off another liberal bleeding heart ..Something you have wet dreams about each day I'm sure.. Instead, you gave him a hall pass because he's an annual broadcast bud of yours..Icy roads..?? Total crap. People were getting around mostly just fine today including him..and you. If thats the case then you should give him and all other dot and county workers a holiday ride-through. Those workers that busted a55 to get you and your discount Jag home.. What a crybaby u are sometimes..The guy can't come and do a deep fried turkey with you so you cut him a pass. If this was Gregoire or the Seattle Mayor, you would be roasting them on air..I believe Dori, this is referred to as a hypocrite..Stick to your political guns big man if you want to retain some degree of credibility across the board with your listeners.. not just in-between chosen friends and foes..If you want to maintain your position, you must release your show biz priority's..

    Sorry Dori
I do the same thing you do. Look at a head line and run with it. Now when some one call the Sheriff in Snohomish County the recording says the Sheriff is on lock down because of icy roads. What about the kids? You can’t hold the bird by the legs and drop in to the boiling oil? You do this to city, state and federal leaders every day! You’re my hero you just pop my balloon. Now I’m going to cry ;(
